Welcome to
First Baptist Church
of Odem!
Our vision is to make a positive impact upon our community by providing a place where all are welcome, and where individuals and families can grow in faith and discover God's plan for their lives.
We are committed to making a positive impact by, and helping others experience the "perfect peace" that comes from faith in Jesus Christ, and obedience to the Holy Spirit.
We invite you to join us this Sunday for an encouraging worship service. We pray that you will feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as we worship together through music, prayer and a message from God's word, the Holy Bible.
Everyone is welcome!
"It's Not Just Church, It's Life"
We want you here!
Welcome to our new Pastor, Terry Little, and his wife, Kelleen. On Sunday, March 19, our church members were united in support of calling Terry Little as Pastor of First Baptist Church of Odem, and we are excited that they accepted! Come meet Pastor Little and Kelleen and welcome them to the community.
You might see signs of building renovation and/or construction outside the church sanctuary and fellowship hall in the coming weeks. The church voted to renovate the sanctuary and work has begun. Required demolition is underway inside the sanctuary. Actual design plans for the sanctuary are yet to be completed and presented to the church for input and approval. If you have any questions please contact the church office or Rickey Rackley, Sanctuary Renovation Committee Chairperson.
Saturday, April 1st, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. NOTE: Children must be accompanied by a parent and wear a flotation device in the water.
The Children's Ministry ages PreK through 5th Grade will have a fun day at the lake for parents and their child/children. This will be a great time for moms and dads to spend dedicated time having fun together with their children. This is a great opportunity for bonding time, playing games, coloring Easter eggs, fishing, swimming or wading the beach and food - hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, chips, drinks, etc..
All fishing gear will be provided. Parents are asked to bring 3-6 boiled eggs for coloring with their children. Sunscreen and lawn chairs are recommended.
An RSVP sheet is in the Family Life Center so the teachers can get a headcount for food, but al are welcome, even if its a last minute decision and you didn't get to sign up. Children may bring a guest, if desired, for the age groups listed.

The church newsletter is now in digital form and is being sent to members via email. Be sure to look for it in your email on the first day of each month. If you don't receive it or if you need a copy mailed to you, please call Tami in the church office at 361-368-4091.
We are always welcoming volunteers to our various programs. Whether its assisting in the pre-school Sunday School class, rocking babies in the nursery, serving on a Wednesday evening meal team, card writing, assisting seniors, coordinating youth activities, or working with technology (presentations, online streaming, sound systems), we can use your help. It's a great way to serve in the Lord's work and to get to know other believers. Call the church office, email us at fbcodem@aol.com, or visit with our Deacons or any church members.
